Thanks! Good idea, I was thinking of doing the other side as well, you now gave me the impetus.

Does anyone else have any other ideas about how to change the hoses?

Just realized, my V is an '84 not an '85. Sorry about that!

mine broke while running on the bay, bilge kept me aflote to the dock then water poured in till I got it on the boat lift. My tall skinny son In law who is mechanically disadvantaged replaced mine with me supervising so it is not as difficult as it looks , getting the old one out is the hard part

Too bad you aren't down this way, my son is 6'4, 170#.

When I replaced mine I went to a plumbing supply store and got drains for a wet bar sink. Then found the 90 degree elbow at True Value.

Look at the bottom of page 3 in the thread link below.

I'm planning on putting in access hatches on the stern gunnels below the top stern hatches. Def recommend stainless or bronze, and double clamps on good quality hoses.

Thanks guys, you justified what I want to do. I'll get the parts, do the work, and let you know how it came out.

This is the one (and only) time I wish I still lived on Long Island - there are no marine supply stores anywhere near me, and almost everything has to be bought online...
