Respectfully disagree in theory. I like lame duck Congreess. Less evil to be done this way as nothing is going to get done. Besides, Patriots do not act in the manner you described here. Politicians hail from somewhere. Tough to go home if you tried to pull a fast one in your final days.. Political Suicide, wait that sounds like a good place to start.. Seriously, how much confidence do we have in our elected officials to even have this tone? Necessary? I hope not, but maybe your right, give them 24 hours to get the F Out! It would give me some personal satisfaction to know that Pelosi, Feinstein and others would not only have to leave the premesis within 24 hours I would make them find their own ride home.. No more plush trips in corporate jets for the elite on the public nickel. The public has spoken... LOL!

The problem with any legislation that would help fix any of the problems in our government is that the people who would have to make it happen are the ones who benefit the most from how it is now.

For example they could make it against the rules to tack on pork to other unrelated bills or make it illegal to gain financially more than their set salary, but THEY are the ones who come out millionaires or better so why would they change?

Unfortunately, you are right on the money Randleman. Somehow the fox has been given the job of watching the henhouse. And truthfully I don't know how the frack we can fix that. Electing someone to change it is useless, because there are so many of them that the one voice would get lost in a sea of negativity. It's a problem I've thought about many times, and I've yet to even come close to a viable solution. Giving the President line item veto power might be a start, but that can be abused also. He can just allow the stuff that he wants and punish the other party by vetoing their stuff. Still, it's a thought......
