I have the 20 Fisherman with a bracket and a 525 lb motor. It is stern heavy. You do what you can to mitigate the extra weight. Floatation bracket, shifting weight around, fuel tank forward, console forward, etc. If not, don't put the weight on the back, the boat is balanced better with a 400 lb class motor. I did all I could and it is still a bit heavy to stern. Probably never be a self bailing boat again because I will not give up the hp for a 4-stroke at this time. The 150 Merc is the lightest I think in the 150 hp class. I hear nothing but good about 200Yamaha 4-strokes. Let us know what goes on..

Thanks I'll pass along the info. He was well on his way to hanging it on there & I mentioned it could be an issue. I'm also looking to repower & hope to learn from this. I am learning that my old Black Max is a good fit.
