| Removing 5" extension from Exhaust Tube

I have a 25" mercury 150 engine and a 20" mercury 150 HP parts engine. Same vintage so most parts are interchangeable. I am trying to remove the 5" extension from the 25" engine exhaust tube and it does not seem to move at all. I don't want to break or damage anything, - so what is the trick? I don't see any fasteners on the engine or in any parts sketches. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

heat, lots of it. You may have to remove the studs before you can get it off the mid section

The exhaust cans are identical on the 20,25" and 30" motors as I recall. You sure you have to remove 5" of it? LOL!

I am thinking 3.0Liter Merc stuff. The 2.0,2.4,2.5 might be different, nevermind.

Hell, I thought he dropped a socket extension down the hole when I first read it.
