stock was just screwed in.....I had to have my brace replaced. I use mine a good bit and went with oversized squared aluminum. Screwed in makes about as much sense as those dinky drains at the back of the deck....or leftover flooring laminate like they used on the gunnels......

Thanks guys. Tried to remove the top screw today. Only moved slightly and hung up. I'd have to say thru-bolted.

My 95 v21 (not a v20) has a stock swim platform that is thru bolted.

they are thru bolted at least that's how mine is done.
