 Lots of good parts on that one and I'm partial to the mid 80's for a couple reasons. The fact that she has already been somewhat stripped of parts, has the usual screw holes in the transom, and even more that somebody didn't care enough to at least throw some wood blocks under her when they dragged her off the trailer would throw up red flags for me. Not to mention the price. I'll bet if you shopped around $1000 might get you close in materials. Could you take everything off the transom, seal it up good and pour Arajay?

			might want to get up with destroyer, i think he had some pretty good intel on exactly whats in the make up of the bracket.  if the core around the bolt holes is sound, might can dig out rot from top and repour, then glass.

			If you want to buy yourself a few years on it for cheap. Remove the engine, drill some 1/4" holes in it all the way down through the wood(not through the glass) about every 2-3 inches, and fill it with kwik-poly. I've used this stuff before, and it will turn that rotted wood into some solid stuff. it is a penetrating polyurathane epoxy. The rotted wood will basically act as a filler for the epoxy to thicken it and reduce the required amount. And if your current boa is in good shape except for the transom, then I would fix it. 			Bradford, I agree the boat in Chincoteague is overpriced for what it appears to be. I guess it really doesn't make sense. Most likely I'd end up with another hull that needs fixing. Converting to a bracket seems like as much work as fixing what is already there.

			It's best to let it dry out some if possible. I have used it on wet wood, and it doesn't work nearly as good. Open it up, drill the holes, and put a halogen work light on it for a few hours a day to dry it out. In a week or twos time you can get most of the moisture out of it.

			some wood bits with extensions, a shop vac, $400 bucks of Arjay, some glass, gel coat, and a weekend you will be back in business. Those v21s look easier to deal with than the v20s
