Advertised weight 487 lbs. MSRP $19,040. Advertised price $15,072
Nice thing about these engines is if you already have a Yammie setup you can just swap the engines. Your old gauges and wiring will work with them without replacement. (or you can upgrade to the new digital gauge pkg being sold with these engines, but it's not necessary).

Advertised weight (487lbs dry) vs rigged weight. I doubt it is any lighter than the 250 XL Optimax advertised at 505 lbs. in a 20" shaft. E-tec 515 lbs for the 250hp in 20" shaft. Amazing is the Yamaha SHO 250 4-stroke 20" is 505 lbs dry.
MJ is right the old 4-stroke v-6 are advertised at 605 lbs dry weight. They are making improvements.

I dont know, Barnegat V20 hasnt been around in a while but seeing the 150 four stroke on his boat in person and recalling how he wasnt happy with how it was sitting i wouldnt say that its a slam dunk motor choice therefore paving the way for the 200.

I'm thinking my Etec 200 HO 25" weighs around 525 lbs and no issues on V21.
Handles the weight very easily, so likely anything lighter than this should be fine. |

I recently repowered a 26 Regulator with a pair of the new F200s. The boat originally had 200 HPDIs. The new 200 is a sweet motor. It has variable cam timing similar to the larger 4 strokes. Performance was about the same as the HPDIs. Except the fuel economy has gone up considerably. The only drawback is that the cowlings contacted the rub rail before full tilt. I had to add tilt limiters to each motor. The owner loves his new motors and has already put over 200 hours on them. He regularly fishes the canyons with the boat and can't say enough good things about them.
