So even though something may come in a factory sealed box, it might not be "new". That's not to say that refurbished isn't good... in some cases it's even better, cause it's been hand inspected to make sure it's ok. And yes, I get most of my rods, reels and line on eBay also. You simply can't beat the prices.

Bought that same reel last year & it turns out there are two or three model changes, I bought a used one for parts & dang if they didn't fit.

what bubba said! id get the numbers and run them through penn on there website if possible, or with a phone call. dont mean its not a good deal, but it might not be the current model

not to derail, but if you guys need any penn parts, contact half hitch tackle on panama city beach. ive never found a part they didn't have. many listed as obsolete or no longer stocking. also prices about half listed on the internet sites. helps a lot of you have the penn part #
