I trailer, so most times I do the same thing, but when I'm tied to a dock (for dinner or whatever) I switch everything off except for the bilge pump. I leave that in the auto position. Just in case...

There is no switch between my batteries and bilge pumps except the float...

yes no switch for my pumps also, just battery to pump. this way i can shut batter's off from rest of boat and pumps still work

My boat doesn't have a battery switch, I would have to install one. I just hope my battery will hold the charge when I try to charge it back. Marine batterys are not cheap lol
