I don't know guys, looks like a deal to me. The trailer does look good, can't see any rust even on the bunk supports. As far as deck drains, I beleive from the second pic his deck drains are plumbed the same as mine. They go from the deck into the splashwell and out the back through the transom. You can see water stains on the transom in the same vicinity that my drains discharge.

If he got into the boat and found it to be solid rot I could see parting it out and break even if not make some money on the education. Heck, trailer is probably worth $6-$800.

I'm not at all sure that that is an '84 as the add says. Shape of the cap looks older, definitely different than my '84. Maybe the 20" transom models had a different cap?

Check the serial for the model yr....

Where are the deck drain outlets? My 83 is 20" transom and does not look like that. That is NOT an 84, maybe a 70's.

Hello guys. Sorry to be MIA after asking for advice. Thank you for all of your input. I decided not to buy that V20 hull after researching the soft deck issues, solutions, and mods. That size project would consume me, and I'd like to have a project I can start and finish over the winter months. Thought the project in question might last a year.

I saw my first V20 on the water down at Topsail Beach, NC this weekend. The boat lines look really great on plane. I'm still keeping watch for V20s that come available. I'm heading to Ft. Myers, Fl. this weekend so I'm keeping an eye on Craigslist down ther eas well.
