I'm still looking for this item. I don't just need trim and tilt assembly. I need the whole bracket and trim and tilt assembly. I tried to use a 84' bracket but the pivot shaft on my 78' is 1/16 smaller. I will take just the bracket if someone has a old v-4 and then buy my own trim and tilt assembly. Thanks again

And you think the setup from a V6 88 150 will work? I got pics of it today. I am almost positive the electric motor will need to be replaced. But a side from that I did get a decent look at it today. I also got pictures but it will take me a little while before I can post pics.

Is it your 1987 140 HP? If its an 87' then it won't work. In the early to late 70's the vertical main pivot shaft is smaller making it impossible to mount the whole trim and tilt bracket(assembly) on my motor. It creates slop in the bracket and the motor. And the 87' main pivot shaft does bolt to my mid section and also has bigger spline also. It kinda hard for me to explain. The motor came off a seadrive bracket,I used the 78' main vertical pivot shaft and there was slop in the motor but it was in fresh water. I've lost my original tilt trim assembly after I took it of and Mounted it to the seadrive bracket. I need the whole assembly (trim and tilt, transom bracket and all for my year.I re- attached some pics. The swivel assembly pictured is a 87' the other picture is of the main or (pivot shaft) Im speaking of.They changed the size of the bracket tube and swivel shaft diameter (the height is perfect) at some point after my 1978 135hp motor.
