What we normally do is find a group of boats with rods bent and fish coming over the rail. Just motor over and join in.
I'll take a cold Busch Lite, in the can is fine.  Seriously tho, not familiar with that area up there but if you aren't marking bait schools or fish on the FF then there isn't much use in fishing that spot. I say that but the biggest striper ever caught on my boat the FF looked like a freakin desert. Best bet - cover a lot of ground. If something isn't working, try something else.
