the longest we have had to go is 4-5 days. it is amazing how dark it is at night without the ambient light. and i always flip on the light switch when i go in a room, even when i know the power is off.

I remember back in 04 we lost it for 2 weeks twice where I'm at now, and my inlaws were out for almost a month after Charlie did his thing down there. Gotta love HONDA generators though. I remeber you could hear the cheapo ones with briggs engines start to blow after the first week down by my inlaws, not to mention it seemed like they were constantly putting gas in them non stop. I borrowed a friends 3000 watt HONDA from down there and that thing would run almost all day on the 2.7 gallon tank running the fridge, lights, fans, water cooler and other 120 volt items(wired it into the breaker box for em).

i worked in the dry tortugas in the early 80's for a contractor rebuilding the living quarters for the rangers. we had to be totally self contained. we ran a work camp for 5 -8 workers w washing mach, fridge, freezer, water de-sal plant, lights, etc. on one honda 6000 water cooled gen. it performed flawlessly. ran 24-7 for about 10 months.
