I just got this e-mail from a friend. I love the signature line. The extra mile, go there often, lonely place.

Subject: FUEL

NOTE ***8211; 4 OF THE MAJOR US FUEL REFINERIES ARE SCHUDULED TO SHUT DOWN IN THE NEXT 3 HOURS. 2 ADDITIONAL REFINERIES HAVE SHUT DOWN ALREADY. IT MIGHT BE A GOOD THING TO FILL YOUR CARS UP BEFORE THE PRICES RISE. DEPENDING ON THE DAMAGE, IF ANY, IT USUALLY TAKES A FUEL REFINERY 1 WEEK TO START UP AND START PROCESSING FUEL AGAIN.

The ***8220;Extra Mile***8221; has no traffic jams.

Funny you mentioned that!!!! Last time we had to evac., I filled my Wellcraft uup. Figured while that line at the gas pump was a mile long I would have a cold beer and let a siphon hose do the work. God Bless a Wellcraft!!!!!

Oh, and don't be like the jackass's I came across in the river who took all day to anchor their sailboat up. I was putterin by in 3' swells in my jon boat(on the way to pull out) and asked the sailboat crew if they had everything they needed. They said "Yep, just finishin up!!" I asked if they had someone comin to pick them up and you guessed it, "Uhhhhh, no. Guess we forgot that part....." I had to give them a ride back to the docks just in time for 30-35kt gusts and me to have to haul azz 30' up into the marsh to avoid gettin swamped to make the 3mi run to the ramp. This was before cell phones and my ramp buddy(Dad) was pissed to say the least I was 1hr late. He thought I capsized. He asked me where I dropped them off at, we went back there to their dock, I could hear the screamin from the car

Moral of the story: Be prepared!!

Haven't been on lately, been real busy rushing to get all our yards mowed. Started Wednesday finished today cut a total of 70 acres.

I've had 2 of my tractors and my Bobcat building Berms around homes and business's, working round the clock. Finished all the places we had.

I'm smiling, I'm gonna be like the plastic surgeons who put implants in women and then everyone found out they are bad for their health and had them removed and replace with the new stuff.

Pay me to put them, pay me to take them out!! MONEY MONEY!!!

We're all buttoned up and have things tied down. Boats out of the water and in garages. Had the big propane tank filled so the whole home generator (15K) shouldn't run out.

Able to talk Mom and Dad to go to Raleigh and stay with my daughter. Our daughter-in-law and grandson coming over here to stay with us.
So were committed to stay.

P/s Fema called and told us to leave and not to call 911 after 3pm tomorrow because they wouldn't be able to respond to us. Don't understand that but then WHO UNDERSTANDS GOVT????

Mr. Krinkle was hoping for a quiet weekend with some glow sticks and the main muff but doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Man I don't want to be the one to tell him!!

i always use the v for a 60 gallon storage tank. have 2 gensets, one for the house lights and one for the window units in bed rooms. gas stove and gas hotwater, so we're in pretty good shape, hadn't needed it it a couple of years, but got it ready.

garage, couple of years ago we had a state rep get on tv and announce if you haven't left by noon, write your name on a piece of paper and put it in your pocket so they could id the body. i'd rather die in my living room than stuck in a car on I-10.
you guys stay safe.

I'm with you on that P Daddy.

There was a wreck today on the bridge from the outer banks to currituck a family of 4, killed the driver and 1 girl was airlifted to the hospital. They were on their way home due to the mandatory evacuation, if they had stayed 1 would be alive and the other not fighting for her life.
