Megan, like I said in my first post.. just take your time and stick with one thing at a time..otherwise the job will simply overwhelm you. You'll do fine.. The fact that you're even trying to do this job is a testament to you..

So far I have done everything I can with this boat. But as I have said from the beginning it has to be safe! So far Sort of like the layers of on onion....

Megan, we have several folks on this site in Virginia. I bet some of them would help you get your existing boat off the trailer, get your trailer road ready, and you could go to New Orleans and back in a weekend. Pour some Arjay in the transom (you already know how to clean out the bad wood in a transom), get a motor, and you and your son will be out on the water before the summer ends.
