If you were closer I'd adopt the hull. My wife has said that our backyard is like a retirement home for old boats and lawn mowers.

Don't cut her up just because of a bad transom.

I know it's sad, but I am not going to sit on this. She is worth more in parts than she is as she sits, but I'm just not that sentimental about boats.

I forgot to add that I replaced all of the inspection rings and plates with new ones last month too. As I said, I planned on having this boat for a long time but alas it was not to be.

Actually, that may or may not be the case. It's true that if you have a buyer, the parts are worth more than the whole... but the problem is finding a lot of buyers for the items. I've parted out several boats in my time. In fact, for a while I was doing it as a living, not as a hobby, so I know a little bit about what I'm talking about. You'll have to remove the items, clean the items, store the items, constantly advertise the items, be available to show and sell the items, etc, etc, and etc. The fact is that if you can sell the whole thing as a one off sale, you'll be much better in the long run. It's just that much less of a hassle. Think about it before you start cutting.

I hear what you're saying and I know it to be true. That's why I'm only going to take the things that either I can use or will be easy to sell like the leaning post and the hydraulic steering. Besides, even if I do have to sit on things for a while, a pile of parts I can store in my shed, but if I have two boats in my driveway, my truck has to live on the street.

This is definitely a boat that is worth saving from the dump. Hopefully someone will take me up on this, either as is or stripped.

This one is an easy fix. It only needs a transom and the fuel hatch recored.
