But don't hink you have to have a boat to enjoy Charleston, the downtown area is full of shops and stores(search for the Charleston City Market, and King Street Shopping). Ther is plenty of site seeing with bus, walking, and cairrage tours. The USS Yorktown is across the harbor in Mt. Pleasant. They run a water taxi(friends of mine) from Charleston Harbor Resort to the Marintine Center downtown, there are Ft. Sumter tour boats that cross the harbor. The also have diner cruises. They just approved Gambling boats in N Charleston, probably won't take them long to get them running. To all the history buffs and studies of The War of Northern Aggresion, there is more than enough places to see including the Charleston Battery, Ft. Sumter, Ft Multrie, and the Hunley. Beach aeras include IOP, Folly Beach. Sulivans Island. Plenty of places to wade fish, any one want to hire a guide, let me know, I work on several guides boats. One of my favorite places to see is the Angle Oak(http://www.angeloaktree.org/), its a little ride, but neat to see. If any of ya'l chase that little white ball, Charleston and the surounding areas are eat up with golf courses. The local sea food toursit trap is Shem Creek, in Mt Pleasant. Plenty of good places to eat all around. There are two places downtown that keep placing in the top 10 places to eat nation wide. More than enough stuff to do. Thats why I warned ya'll about not having enough time to do what you want, especially if you've never been here adn are driving a long way
heres one solution for some one with out a V http://charleston.craigslist.org/boa/2036966536.html Last edited by spareparts; 11-01-2010 at 06:28 PM. |

...and those battle re-enactments are really practice, right ?
I'm tempted to join the Charleston fun, though my V is unlikely to be ready. Tasting authentic low-country boil is on my to-do list. |
