Yeah. They look pretty new. It also has a brand new bimini - for a Monterrey, but it fits nicely. And there is a Garmin fishfinder new in the box, but I'll probably replace it before this thing ever gets wet. Other than those items... it needs a complete overhaul. I think I should probably also take the engine in for an inspection & probable rebuild... or does anyone recommend doing this myself? I did check compression and the cylinders were consistent at 75 lbs, but I haven't researched the OEM specs for it yet.

Its really not that hard a skill to learn, although there are those that just do not seem to have any aptitude for mechanical work. As for compression, 75psi seems a little low, but it still might be enough to fire. Having the same psi reading on each cylinder is more important than an absolute number. But if the compression is too low, the gas/air mix won't ignite. search for the thread "awakening a sleeping outboard" over at iboats.com, |

Let it come up to operating temp.. Then pull the compression test. It will give you a more accurate reading. Additionally, If it were me I'd get a portable tank, fill it with fresh gas and oil and a double shot of Seafoam and run the engine with that gas for a while (15 mins or so) In a lot of cases the Seafoam will cut through the gunk and free up the rings. DO NOT REV THE ENGINE while on earmuffs.. Idle speed only please..
