Well it is Friday morning here in Jersey,so far it is good, no rain or winds. I pulled my V-20 out of the water yesterday, I just don't want to take the chance.

Bro Lee hows it look today? Dad is at my place at EI, he called and said no issues in my house just a little wet spot on the floor from unknown not the roof must be blow in from the bottom. he was down boarding up and sealing the vaults at the Wachovia banks and today opening them back up. they caulk the vaults an ext. doors shut in case of flooding.

OK guys

Rt 12 road thru Hatteras is washed over from the ocean (last night) and today from the sound. Approx 5ft of water in some places.

I had wind gusts up to 70 mph lastnite and today until abt 11am. It took the water away from my place last nite but it's coming back in the creek as we speak because the eye is past us.

I'll know more about if I'll get flooded later today. I think I will be ok.

Hope everyone gets thru this ok.

Yea MJ for all the hype the TV was making out for Earl it was a dissappointment, not that I was hoping for damage but we went to extra cautions and the Noreasterner we had earlier this year was a lot worse.

Glad you guys didn't get much either MJ

I got twenty (yes I counted, 20) drops on my hood/windshield. So much for Earl... I've had flocks of Canadian Geese drop more "rain". And to put that into perspective, I live about 25 miles due west of NYC... Not that far from the coast when you get down to it. I was happy to be disappointed by Earl. Garagenc, I hope everything is ok with you??

Yep we just had some high wind gusts and some rain, I put thte V back in the water Saturday. My daughter and grand daughter were with us this weekend holiday and we just came in from going to and from the swimmin hole via the V.

My daughter took it out late Saturday and got tangled in a UNMARKED fishing net. Had to tow it in an Sunday Morning I cut enough net and rope to fill a 5gal bucket. It wrapped the rope so tight it crushed my zinc anode that is fwd of the fwd prop (volvo penta duo prop ). I had to pull both props off to clean the net and rope away.

I'll get a anode this week, but we run her today to go swimmin and she ran just like the ole girl she is.

Earl was a major bust here as well. The way it got all hyped up and blown out of proportion [typical media] was nothing short of,.....well, pretty funny. I was at home cheapo getting some material Fri afternoon and you could not count the amount of people scrambling around lost, confused and scared buying giant flashlights, batteries even saw a few generators go out the door. On Thurs. or Fri. morning the front page of Newsday, [L.I. major newspaper] showed a satelite image of the storm, 150-200 miles to our southeast, the headline was "TAKING AIM" with a bullseye or crosshairs directed toward the center of the Island. First four pages were all about the storm, could not change the tv channel without hearing !!!TEAM COVERAGE!!! "will be here to help you deal with the storm"...."keep it right here for up the latest updates on the storm"....ferries to Fire Island stopped at 3pm that afternoon, trains had limited service out toward the east end so on and so on. I had camping plans w/ my son for Fri. ,Sat. and Sun night.....I did anticipate some rain Fri. and maybe a little windier than normal. As soon as I got on the road Fri after work [heading east] I was quick to see that there was light traffic for Fri eve. rush hour and all the "eastenders" and "Hamptons Wannabees" were non existant. Excellent, I was home in 22 mins instead of 70 mins. It did not rain a drop, got home , grabbed our gear was at the camp grounds in 5mins....place is empty, got the perfect site right in the corner, deep in the woods, right in the treeline. Not a drop of rain throughout the entire night biggest wind gust was maybe 25 mph, it was actually windier Sat night....So farewell Earl and I thank the media for making my ride home on Fri . an absolute pleasure and getting me the best campsite at the park. To the guys who bought the generators....you fools.....but now at least you've got one, see you on Craigslist

Same here Phest I'm down in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. We get thunderstorms with more wind during the summer. But its always fun to watch the "Weather Channel" talking heads Drama it up! Ive been through plenty of these storms and I have never boarded up windows or purchased a generator (because of a storm) but I guess it helps the local economy.
