Did you use a composite core for the re-do ? If you did heck don't cap it, per Skool and the Guy's here I did not cap mine looks great to this day..
Only problem is my neighbour cat crawls in to sleep during the night when it rains and could see a few claw marks on it .. I love cats so she is excused ... |

No I used layers of marine ply and West resin with 17 oz. bidirectional cloth backed with 3/4 oz glass mat

I will say you need to cap it , Have a local metal shop bend u a cap and seal is good, most if not all none composite transom this is the number one spot for moisture and rot ..

I used plywood and west in my transom. I glassed my cap and it turned out pretty good.
