The only way is to cut the mid section open to access the LU shaft, then attach pipe strap on the shaft and sledge it off assuming you don't peel the splines off the crank in the process. Sorry this really sucks ..I have to pull mine for an annual inspection I can only hope all is well..

did you ever try the removing the powerhead deal? that has always worked out for me. use the boat as weight to pull them apart plus it will let you oil and heat the shafts if needed.

the one pictured above will seize too if you don't install the o-ring as needed.
