Default I need a motor cheap that runs good...

Sounds crazy, but i'm looking for a motor that is pretty cheap but runs great... lol Aren't we all. Anyways, it's for my 20' dual console sportsman wellcraft and it needs a 25" shaft. I have a buyer for my 60 evinrude now and he's coming the 15th of this month so i'll have the cash available then. I can probably go as high as $2000.00 but i'd like to stay as low as possible. If anyone has one laying around in good shape please let me know. I currently have omc controls and a 1991 Evinrude 225 on it with a shaft that won't come loose. Not stuck to omc, but would need controls for anything else. Thanks everyone. Craigan. (Oh, and i'm in South Carolina so Mainly looking in the southeast)

Try ARG Marine, Florida - look up the web site, call and ask for Victor.

Still looking. Looking in the 1500 - 2000 range. Currently have omc controls. Let me know if anyone sees anything good. Craigan.

140-225 depending on weight... I currently have Johnson controls, but i'm up for anything. Just need it dependable and cheap. Could swing a little over $2000.00 if need be. Thanks for the help! Craigan.

No ties, and slightly below your HP threashold, but others have suggested these push the v along well
