The hardest one to find though is the 85 25" leg 140, they have a special exhaust tuner in them that you can't buy anymore. They make HUGE power on the top end, but suck below 3800. My 140 has the 85 tuner in it and it runs it's best at the 6100 redline(86+ went to a 6700 limiter). I bought one here awhile back and when it showed up I was less than thrilled with this supposed freshwater mid section. If you want to get rid of that mid NYMACK, let me know. I'd love to be able to put my 140 on my HYDRA-SPORTS to save some on fuel, but it is currently a 20" shaft.
For you ? One word Absolutely!
I have a 20" on the V currently and I did cut down the transom as you remember during the rebuild for the current motor, the 25 " is perfect for you and your 20" floats my boat...

I didn't know that the v4's had the Bridgeport exhaust too in 86/87. Very cool motor . . . Even the rod slots look nice on that block . . . is that stock or did someone clean them up?

Honest answer I do not know, I wish the Guy I purchase the MID/LU kept the damage Block I was looking forward to use it as a benchmark since the history of my power head is not known. Per the machine shop its stock, but then again he told me the block did not need decking!

All of the V4 loopers have the bridgeport exhaust IIRC, the V-6's are the ones that changed in 88 and then in 92 added the finger ports. The only real change in the V-4's was in 88 going to larger 3.625 bore from the 3.5" bore of earlier years. And remember NYMACK, I'm not that far away and I have a pretty intimate knowledge of the V-4 loopers.

I'm gonna have to hold off right now. I would really like to get it, but the wife is wanting a bigger boat now. She wants one where she doesn't have to sit on a bucket to go to the bathroom.

Dam FERM, I wish my wife would say that, I usually get "you are always buying something for that boat and not the house"
