Bingo on that one Ferm. Hunting season and winter (not a factor much in FL) often brings out some sweet deals on fishin stuff and with the economy in the crapper the time could be right.

I had a shaft get stuck once. I had to take it to the shop and let them do it. He said it took a lot of penetrating lube and a lot of tapping but they finally got it to break free. Thats a sweet deal BC...

i've had a couple stuck just remove the power head with the motor still on the boat that way you use the weight of the hull to pull it apart, works everytime. just start lifting to power head till the boat is lifting then get in the boat a bounce the hull a little they pop loose everytime. then you only need a new powerhead gasket and remove the lower unit and remember to GREASE the drive shaft splines lol. plus while the power head is off look inside and inspect the water and exhaust ports for salt damage.

If it helps i'm looking for a dependable engine for a 14' mckee too so i'd consider anything in trade in regards to that... 40-60hp... thanks for all the interest guys. I figured the price was fair for parts alone,(both of them running aside) but if not please let me know.
