I knew that question was coming. I'm the third owner. I am outboard tech and bought it from an older gentalmen that got too old to use it. Transom was replaced. Excellent job except they took the notch out so it's now a 25" transom, but they kept the old mounting holes so the motor is a little low, and I'm too lazy to redrill it. It runs 32.8mph @WOT. Yes it's on the slow side, but hey, I only use it for spearfishing and it gets pretty good gph.

Some specs:

2 20 gal fuel tanks(premixed)
2 1000cca 24 series batts
2 way fuel selector valve and a secondary valve- I can add a 3rd external tank
Armstrong ladder on port side
swim platform on stbd side
172qt fish cooler
72qt food/beverage cooler
Garmin 545s
Dual axle aluminum trailer

Nice rig Mariner, very nice. That 115 pushes that boat just fine. My previous V had the 115 and it was on a bracket, did 34-38 depending on load and whether I had the enclosure up. Got up on plane fast and we used to take the whole family out (6) and do the tube thing and it had plenty of power. And like yours it sips gas.

I run a 1992 200 Merc, and I'll get 44 on GPS on a calm day, trimmed up all the way, just me a half tank (30 gal) and my canvas up on the CC.

Default Speed? We don't need no stinkin...

Gotta weigh in: First, welcome to this fabulous site. I've learned a boatload on this site, and some of it was about the V-20. When we head out in the '74 with two fat adults, three or four teens, plus assorted chillerens below twelve, it takes our 115 a little while to get up on plane, and then, wot we'll move darn near 28 mph (IFS--intermittently functional speedometer). That's enough to send the kids on the tube flying when we go round a corner. It's enough to rattle your fillings when you hit a ferry wake. And no matter what we do, we seem to burn two or 2.5 gals an hour. We swim, we fish, we putter around Woods Hole and nearby. But most of all, after being a sailor all my life, the V keeps my wife happy. That means more time on the Cape. We LOVE our V!
Nuff said.
