Johnson doesn`t want to go in reverse

I'm not sure if yours has those two orings but that sounds alot like mine when I traced the proplem down to them. If you know how to remove the lower unit it not hard to check them.

We got a repair manual today, hopefully i can adjust the shift rod from up top like schools out sugested. if that doesent work the lower unit is coming off. Still Running, I`ll be sure to check/replace those o-rings at that time.
The shift rod has a bend in it, i`m not sure if it will make a full turn or not
