Most boats have a drain to the bilge somewhere in the cuddy area. Need one up there for water coming over the hull orflooding in the cockpit so it will drain back to the pumps.
Usually located at the low spot in the cuddy. A lot of boats have them in the pilothouse floor also. It should be just a hole going into the bildge and supposed to drain back thru openings in the stringers. No thru hulls involved. Also I have seen them with a drain hose going back and without.

My 85 and 86 both had drain holes in the floor that drained into the bilge. If you get alot of water in the bilge, you'll get water coming up thru that hole. You can always plug the hole with a simple transom drain plug.

My 84 has that drain hole it drains to the hull then under a bulkhead down a pvc pipe to the bilge. When I took the fuel tank out I found a pvc pipe under the tank for a drain to the bilge.
