Yeah it bails into the bilge. Left the plug in once on the trailer at my house accidentally only to find the engine compartment 1/3 filled with water the next day after a good rain. That's also how i found out my float switch worked only occcasionally, could've been worse.

My 84 is a full transom model. Came with a seadrive. The deck has those through hull fittings to nowhere. I have a friend with an 84 outboard model that is self bailer. I have always wondered about installing some scuppers. The deck seems to be above the water line at least with my bracket and outboard. I dont know about the weight in the stearn and a stearndrive boat though. I'm sure Wellcraft did it for a reason.

My 86 CC is a self bailer, but is rather on the small side, but works.
