That price sounds low, bring a soft mallet when you go and use it with the owners permission. New bottom paint can hide a world of trouble, looks like this bottom paint is worn so maybe you can see problems. I came close to buying a 25 Bertram w/o motors for $5 grand, it had a fresh coat of bottom paint. Thankfully I spotted a bent rudder and shaft in the weeds and found the boat had been dropped to dry land from slings. They had piled up the new blue bottom paint thick to cover the dents and 15' of crack down the keel.

Ferm knows his boat and i don't think we need to tell him about the rubber or leather hammer deal with boats lol. I bet between Ferm and I bet we've beatin on almost every brand boat built lol

I've looked at WAY to many boats personally, and seen WAY too many ways some people can patch them up to sell em. I prefer t stick to engine work as I HATE fiberglass work, and I'm not very good at it. Don't want to be good at it either. Fiberglassing aint for me, give me an old greesy engine any day over glass work.

I'm with ya', but what's the deal with all the trailable boats and bottom paint. I have the same problem with bottom paint that I do with carpet. I always recall the old Bayliner saying that "CARPET CAN HIDE A MULTITUDE OF SINS". My thought is that bottom paint can also hide sins, just more serious. Hey, I'm a 1st hand almost victim to a bottom paint cover up, I don't get over that easily.
