Thanks for the advice Fitz. I had never heard of the Sikkens light. Even though I have a quart of the regular (matte finish), and the Sikkens Cetol is pretty expensive, I think I will invest in a quart of the light so as to avoid that orangish cast.

Fitz, I just took a look at your gallery. Your boat (and the teak) is gorgeous. Well done. I am very interested in what you have done with the storage pockets where the rod holders used to be. I want to do something similar, and I was contemplating just using a snap on canvas (probably sunbrella) cover. It appears yours is wood, perhaps covered in vinyl, and that it slides forward on teak rails. Nice setup. Was it hard to do?

Thanks for the comments, guys.

Nipper, are you talking about the horizontal vinyl covers on the port and starboard stern areas where some models have recessed fishing rod holders? If so, those were never rod holder wells on my model. The vinyl you see covers the saddle tanks. My boat doesn't have a gas tank in the floor, which is something I also really like. Whenever I catch fish (a rare occasion, if you listen to my wife), I fill the stern floor compartment with salt water, toss them in, and cover them up. It keeps them alive and fresh all day.

I think a snap-on canvas or vinyl cover over an existing rod holder well would be relatively inexpensive and look great.

Nipper - sorry, I meant the vertical vinyl covers.

Get rid of the teak and go starboard, like I did.
