I'm 10 minutes from the ramp in NJ which means lots of stopping for traffic lights, traffic and the added joy of senior citizens pulling out in front of me. The braking thing makes me nervous since my trailer brakes don't work. My current rig has hydroboost brakes so its not an issue. Someone suggested trying 4wd low range to pull the boat out so I might give that a try before looking for another vehicle.

I pulled my V out in 2WD without issues with my CHEROKEE. Trailer brakes would be cheaper than a new tow vehicle.

I pulled a 24ft Grady (5500#s) out of the water with my 91 cherokee for several years. Just drop it in low and theres is no problem. Trailering on the road is a different issue and you would be wise to get brakes.

Towed my v20 with a 95 Cheerokee 4.0 for years. Alot of 500 mile round trips to the keys. No issues at all. Trailer had no brakes.
