I do feel very lucky indeed to have the lake so nearby and be able to enjoy it almost every single weekend. I know that isn't something everybody gets to do on a regular basis.

Like anything else after doing something practically day in day out its not hard to start taking things for granted. I appreciate it when you guys remind me how lucky I am to have a healthy family who loves to get out and spend time with mother nature. Thank you Lord.

I'm sure these are the times the kids won't soon forget. I know I won't.

Good job BR....looks like the water is pretty clear for High Rock. I guess with the little bit of rain we are having it is staying that way.

Is the water all the way up?

Thanks RB and Stink!

Negative RB, the water is about 4 ft below full pond, hence the "high dive" off the rail of the stationary part of the pier. From the top rail its about a 9 ft drop - good times!

Funny you should say the water is clear, back up around my place in Abotts creek lies the least clear water. Much much clearer in other parts of the lake. But yes, clear for abbotts I suppose. Better than the muddy water we see after a huge rain.

Great pics. I LOVE North Carolina. Haven't had a chance to check out any big lakes yet. Any suggestions for near Asheville / Hendersonville area?
