BC, i just re-read your post. Congrats on the baby. I have a 6 1/2 month old son, its the best.

We just replaced the ceiling fans. Costco had those same palm fans but when we put them up they moved none or very little air at all. called the manufactor and they said they are mostly for decorative. Took them down and costco took them back. I put up a ceiling fan to move air. Good luck with yours. Room looks great with alot of windows.

I noticed the fan wasnt putting down as much air as I expected, I even checked to make sure the motor wasnt in reverse. I love the way the fan looks so I think I'll keep it regardless of its output. With 9 windows in a 12' x 16' room we should have plenty of air.
