Nothing like being at the right place at the right time. This story reminds me of my $20 dirt bike I got last year.

I never pass by a broke down boater, my conscience just wont allow it.

Looks like the SKOOLS deal bug has been passed on. I never intentionally pass by a boater that evene remotely looks in distress. I'm sure over the sound of my MERC I can't hear much, but whenever I see somebody stopped and a cowling off or looking at his vessel like he's trying to figure something out I stop and offer help.

I looked at a "Garlick" [?] brand kicker bracket today. Stainless steel adjustable height settings....looked good but it seemed a bit pricey at around 200.00. Anybody have one of 'em, or similar ? I have four existing s.s. bolts exactly were a bracket would mount. I can't say for sure but it looks to me like nothing was ever installed there. The four bolts, center to center, are 5 3/4" WIDE and 4" HIGH. I am trying to get a bracket that will mount on the afore mentioned bolt pattern rather than drilling additional holes in the transom. The Garlick I saw today, the 4" on the height was good.....5 3/4" Width, no good.
