Yeah, lets legalize drugs and we can use all the tax money to pay for everyones rehab stays, taking care of the crack babies, paying for all the peolpe hurt and killed by drug impaired drivers, we can send checks to the people who wont go to rehab so they dont have to work, pay for their health care when their bodies give out. Isn't that what we're already doing? Yep
I think legalizing it will solve all the problems, it works just fine with alcohol. Well, as long as you don't count the 16 to 18 thousand people killed by drunk drivers each year in the US, not to mention the ones that are only crippled in the crash. I've never seen a pot smoking speeder. Being a traffic cop, I have. And I have seen many kill themselves and others doing it. I guess I just see the bad side of drugs because of my job. Whether they are legal or not, drugs, including alcohol and nicotine, cost us all a lot of money (directly or indirectly) that we could spend on our boats instead. That's why I don't smoke, use illegal drugs and only drink on occasion. I simply don't think making it illegal solves anything. As far as pot goes, I think it's less dangerous than alcohol or ciggs. I'm with you, drugs being illegal doesn't stop the problem, but making them legal wont solve it either. Whoever figures out the solution will be a much smarter person than I.

Just some thoughts from someone who has been literally on both sides of the issue in his life.
Cannabis should not be in the same spectrum as the scheduled narcotics and prescription drugs. To do so is as hypocritcal as you can possibly be. Alchohol is much more potentially damaging to society as a whole and it is regulated sold taxed and used thru out the world. Having used it as a guy growing up and when I was in the service I am very familiar with it. Once I decided to pursue law enforcement as a career and took an oath of office that put an end to that. Had it been legalized I probably would have been an occassional user and likely as responsible about it as I have been about alcohol, which I have been known on occassion to dabble in. Can you say nationwide stash. That being said I have also observed as I am sure many of you have in your lives that some people can drink all night and walk around and act perfectly normal, some have a glass of cheap wine and become your dream date. All in all my observations with mary jane is that other than laughing at sh!t that aint funny and wanting to love the whole world with a giant hug and snacking too much the occassioanl user is very non-offensive. The effects driving while not as profound as alchohol are none the less very dangerous and Randle is absolutely right on the money with that. I believe the best course of action is to do with it the same thing that is done with alchohol, regulate tax and control it. Abusers should be treated with the proceeds when needed as should be done with booze too. The fact that it is not done now is another one of the greed crimes our government is guilty of. The benefits to the US society as a whole would far outweigh the costs, and it would stop making hypocritical criminals of our citizens. If you grew it for your own use or gifting to friends as we do now with wine beer etc. the police should have no buisness being involved with you. In places where it is decriminalized now there has been no outrageous spikes of abuse or accidents. That says a lot to me. To put some guy in a lock up for using it in his own home or growing his own is just ludicrous to me. Having common sense restrictions and some professions that have an absolute ban on its use like pilots train operators police officers etc. just as we do with alchohol would serve us all well and save us billions. JMHO

My dad once told me when I was a kid that the worse thing about MJ is that it will opens the door for you to try other, harder more dangerous drugs. That, I've found to be very true. I was lucky that dad pointed that out to me otherwise I could have been part of the statistics.
Besides, I was happy with MJ. We got along great together! ![]() This guy looks like he's been doing some mj:

RIGHT ON WILLY! That was by far the most intelligent and insightful explanation I have ever read! I partied into my 40's and for 17 of those years I didn't drink a drop. When I was younger I drank a lot, felt like crap and ruined many a pair of shoes pukin' up the expensive booze I bought all night. Couldn't get up in the morning, barely could work when I did get up. Never had that problem with weed. If I smoked too much, worse thing that happened was I woke up the couch in the morning. Never felt like crap and never got sick. I could buy an ounce of weed for less money that I would spend in 1 night drinking, even the good stuff! And it lasted me a lot longer too.I was a single guy, owned my own home, had a truck and a jeep, owned a couple of boats, had $$ in the bank, and worked my a$$ off everyday.... once I quit drinking. I didn't go out too much, usually a few friends would come over and, we would have some dinner, listen to music, have a game night....real harmless stuff. But if the cops had ever come in we would have all been busted for some bull**** crime. When and if the ever decriminalize it, I'll be getting a big ol' bag of "crippy bud", 20 packages of oreo cookies, and I'll be having a big ol' party.
Willy, I have promoted you to the title of "Honorable and Intelligent Senior Assistant Grand Pubah" of the Norton Snagger Fishing Team. |

I don't like the feeling of being stoned for the sake of being stoned. But being stoned and making love... OH HELL YES!

Just called the local seller of fine distilled spirits and ordered a mass quantity of Mr. Daniels best, notified the bait shop to be on stand by and gassed up the boat! What else?
