Good looking rig, but I think the price is high considering the trailer is basically rust if you use it in anything other than a freshwater environment. Hell, the price is high anyways, but I'm half buzzed so whatever.

Hahahahaha! you are funny.. But I think you are right the price is a little high and I'll be limited to freshwater fishing. I haven't seen the rig in person yet. In the pictures it looks really good. I have to call him tomorrow to let him know if I'm all set to water test this weekend but I'm having second thought now. He said his price is firm. thanks for your response.

If you ask me that looks like a galvanised trailer. Boat looks very clean but the price sounds high.

Rambilt,
So what's the verdict? Did you see the boat? Did you buy it?

I didn't see the boat because it was storming the night before continuing until late in the morning. So that was cancelled. The boat is really nice though, at least in the pictures. So my quest is still on. |

If you like the boat, don't worry about the trailer. Just wash it down with soapy water when you're done with each trip. Springs, axles, some rims, brackets, bolts and nuts aren't galvanized. With proper care who knows how long it'll last. Don't be afraid of saltwater with your trailer. If you bury a galvanized trailer in saltwater at the ramp you may not damage the frame, but other components will take a beating without proper maintenance. Use and enjoy the boat, just clean the trailer after each trip. P.S. Used trailers for a V-20 are pretty reasonable on this site. For 8K I'd want compression numbers and hours on the motor, electronics, a solid transom, floor, bulkheads, and the tank cover pulled and inspected. I'd rather have a freshwater 1993 motor than a galvanized trailer anyday.
