Well I heard all this stuff before!
In 05 I cleaned all the V20 tanks and changed out all the hoses. And like always I left what ever gas in the tank in there, I do not fill or empty my gas at the end of the season! What ever is there is there! I do put Stabil and change out filters for the spring, also change out filter mid summer. I and others have all done the same, are we lucky?? Or is all this stuff they saying to get peoplento upgrade there motors and stuff?? Its been working for me the last 2 seasons so I am sticking to it! One other thing i do first tank of gas I always double the oil to make sure I get a good lube and also when I had the Yamaha to make sure the oil injection was working after a long winter nap!

I agree MJ except the double oiling. Many will argue this, but quite a few have lost engines from doing this. It actually leans your engine out dramatically when you double oil. My 115 cross-flow won't even idle on double oil, but purrs on 50:1. On 25:1 it coughs and idles erratic and dies constantly.

Little trick guy at west marine told me. The Starbrite stabilizer comes in gas and diesel versions. The diesel is the same stuff as the gas but 2x as concentrated as the gas version and they are both approximately the same price. So use the diesel at half the recommended amount in your gas engine and save.

No water, no separation, no issues at all!!
I think one thing that helps some as I don't top off the tank, so when the spring comes I just top off and go, this adds some new good gas to what might be as good and it boosts it up

I know down here in FLORIDA water is a major issue with fuel. Considering our average humidity in the summer is 60%-110% with the temps running from 70-95, aluminum tanks sweat horribly! For most of us draining your filters is at least every other trip deal.
