I know some manufacturers use pvc tubing for wire runs bow to stern, but they would not run them along the keel area would they?

Lumber that pipe is a water passage for water to flow from bow to stern. I'm pretty sure it was sealed up pretty tight on both ends so water could not come in contact with the tank. We had a problem in our V like that. The water would just sit up front and verry slowly piddle down to the stern when we We drilled two four inch holes in the livewell and using a water hose to loosed up the crud we was able to pull all the cloggings out, It hasn't given us a probelm since.

Lumber, how's it going? I've got to download some pics, but as for progress...the helm is in, and the hydraulic lines are hooked to the helm and run to the stern. I was supposed to finish today, but it looks like it may rain all day?

I'm not real satisfied with my helm mounting position. I front mounted mine, as per the instrucutions...it puts the steering wheel a good 2" closer to you. I may have to move the seat back to regain some room. Either that, or look at t a rear mount helm. Not sure what I'm gonna do just yet.

On a side note...I knew there was a good chance that a fuel tank was in my future. The only time I ever got a wiff of fumes was when I filled up. Well, in order to make it easier to run the hyraulic lines, I removed the rod box on that side, and what did I find...my vent line laying in the bottom. Seems the fitting had rotted and fallen apart. Now it looks like I need a $10 fitting instead of a tank. Glad I did this steering job...saved me a pile of money...

I suspect I have a leak in my vent or fill tube b/c I get this too at fillup. I try not to fill it ALL the way up for this reason.
