I tried that. The thing pegs to the left when I ground the stupid wire.

|
on the trim sender you should only have two wires comming from in. a tan/white and then the short black wire grounds out to the bolt. the guage needs a 12v and a ground then put the tan white to the sig input. should work unless you have a guage thats for a yam or merc.
