My 250 Sportsman has hydraulic steering, when we bought the boat it was effortless to turn the motors but it slipped. I put hydraulic oil in and now it doesn't slip but is not as effortless. Could that be because of air in the lines? Before i put fluid in, the fluid was below the valves. Is anybody planning to have the power hydraulic steering installed?

Thanks for the offer GNC. I've installed a couple of these before, so I got it pretty well covered.

Yep, motor has to come off, or cut the cable into short pieces . Mine needs to be raised two holes anyway, plus I am working a possible deal on an Optimax...we'll see what happens

we don't use hydraulic power assist on anything under 40 feet(not to be confused with power assisted cable steering), Unless you are installing an autopilot, you won't need it on a V
