One thing about conversions, Cuddys take the conversions much better the the CC, as the CC's become a$$ heavy!!

There are a few here that have done it and then have added sand bags in the bow, or in another case they were putting in a new gas tank and moving it forward to give it more weight in the bow. to try to level it off better.

Also so you want to go with the shortest bracket and the lightest motor you can put on it. There are guys that have 140's with good numbers!!

My cuddy had a 28" set back and a 175 Yamaha. But that was a cuddy, CC woulg=d not like that combo and stay a float.

I had a cuddy I/O that I converted and it was the best thing I ever did!!

Hey Overboard,
Welcome to the site. I see you are interested in a bracket conversion for your outboard V. You didn't say what motor you are going with, I am currently running a 115 2 stroke on an 18" setback bracket on mine which I find to be plenty of motor for what I do. If you are planning to go with a larger motor I would consider a bracket with a longer set back. I also moved my fuel tank foward about 20" to offset moving the motor back since I had to pull the tank any way.

I'm pretty sure that I am going with a 150hp motor. I had a 115hp 1990 Evinrude on it before. It did o.k. but I am in the ocean alot and would appreciate a little more HP. I was figuring on going with a 24" setback and a wide floatation bracket. What do you think?

ETECH????? Be sure to go with a 25" shaft. That will be sweet. That'll be enough to make me jealous. Also, watch out for Hammer, he will covet your bracket.

Personally, I like the idea of bracket-jack plate.
Ain't seen that,.....yet!
