				 new prop, what a difference!

ok it's not about the v-20, but I did put a newer prop on my tin boat. It's a 15' Duranautic semi-v 1966 vintage. It has a good little V, nice gunnel height and probably weighs only 250lbs. dry.Mounted on the transom is a 1985 35hp Evinrude that had a 10" diam. x 9 pitch...out of the hole like a slingshot. That prop had a little bend in it and topped out around 22mph. I wanted a little more speed so spun on a 13 pitch, 9" diam. standard Michigan wheel. It's still launches you out of the hole and now it goes about 30mph,wot [ with what seems to be a better/smoother range of cruising speeds]Thirty in that boat seems like what 60 would be in a V20. I'm very impressed how stable it still rides. I played w/ the trim adjustment, moving it out one more trim hole got it going a little faster, but it also was a little squirrelly and the prop broke loose in a slight turn so I put it back to where it was.Overall, an excellent 50.00 upgrade. I love that little boat ;D
