Default Re: Wax On Wax Off

i took my old Mitchell to the car wash and blasted the chalk off of it( took about $10 worth of quarters). After I got home, I let it dry for a day, I went back and put several heavy coats of wax on it, I wasn't too worried about how good of a job of polishing it, just getting wax on it. Then I started buffing it with a cleaner wax. One of the boat detailers told me to try it this way, the wax gets in the gel so it makes buffing it easier, and it keeps it from absorbing all the buffing compound into the raw gel. Worked pretty good for a boat that probably hadn't been waxed in 15 years.
