Unless you are hoping for a repower, I would change the pump before I went out. JMO.
As far as the pressure on the hose, unless you have very low pressure, I would think a pump would be in order. I had mine changed early this year, and the mechanic said I would not have gotten two more trips out of it. The impellar was coming off the hub. The trip before I took it, the pisser was flowing good. I saved the impellar to look at later and sure enough it was coming apart.
