I heard what Frank said is just about the general consensus on the tunnel drive boats, though a lot of guys liked them as family boats for beaching, sand bar hopping and the like.
Talked to the fellow who owned the 2000 Intruder with the I/O, was his third Penn Yan, sold it because he got injured and was now disabled, in his sixties. Said his I/O boat was a very dry and smooth riding boat, very comfortable and built well. He made runs to the canyon with them and said it was very reliable and sea worthy.
