I " run this equation " when I start thinking about next boat possibilities.
In a minor way, I did so by selling my last boat, buying the V21 for 1/2 the sold boat money, then using the $$ to buy new trailer, and rig it with used low hour Etec 200 HO, and sold the motor it came with........a great evinrude !50 looper.
It can be a good way to limit the spend ( sort of ) by using older boat packages where it can work out.

Exactly. I'm pretty much hoping to eventually break even. I have 2 single axle boat trailers that fit 20' boats, both galvanized, heavy duty, no rust that I intend to sell after I do the mentioned swaps. And the 225HP Looper Johnson that's on the V20 now will get sold for a profit in the spring when people are looking for engines. That money will go into Destroyer's Etec bank towards my future (and hopefully last) engine swap on the V21. (Although Yamaha is a serious contender right now for the final engine swap also)
