Have to disagree here. Lincoln spawned fedzilla with his unconstitutional acts against sovereign States and citizens in the Northern War of Aggression.

The following is quoted from a review of "The Constitution in Exile", by Judge Andrew Napolitano -

Lincoln destroyed the union of the founding fathers. He "replaced a voluntary association of states with a strong centralized government. The president and his party eagerly lifted the floodgates to the modern thuggish style of ruling that the U.S. government now employs" (emphasis added). This "opened the door to more unconstitutional acts by the government in the 1900s through to today."

I'd have to agree with that, but at the time there was(and still is) a decided push to return this country to a caste system of government that had to stopped(only to return in a more political correct manner)
