Keeping in mind, I'm a novice boat owner and the only thing I have done ot an outboard engine is drain and replace oil from the lower unit, replace the spark plugs, and a simple fuel gasket. I have however pulled and rebuilt a Chevy 350 from a car by myself, so I am technically inclined.
Also, I don't mind paying someone to do it if it is going to take me hours and be a pain in the @$$.
It might take you an hour to an hour and a half and be a PITA for the first time, but once you're used to it you can do an impeller change in less than a half hour...(assuming you have no problems with frozen bolts) Just make sure that the new impeller is oriented in the same direction as the one you take out. Tilt the engine, remove some bolts, slide the lower unit out, remove the impeller cover, slide the impeller up and off the driveshaft, slide the new impeller down onto the driveshaft, put the cover on, slide the lower unit back into the engine, tighten the bolts and that's it...done.

If God didn't have a purpose for us we wouldn't be here, so
Live simply, Love generously, Care deeply, Speak kindly.

Silence, in the face of evil, is itself evil. Not to speak is to speak, not to act is to act. God will not hold us guiltless.
