I got a late start due to the weather and only hunted the PM on saturday. I seen 5 does and one unidentified buck that got past me before I could get a look at him.
![]() Sunday AM I started at dark 30. It was 19ish when I woke up and headed over to the property. I got out of the truck and thought DANG its cold. I suited up and headed to my stand. I got to my climber and started to unlock my cable around it only to find the keyhole full of ICE. I fooled with it for about five minutes and FINALLY got her open. Anyways...I sat until a little before 7 when I looked up and seen horns coming my way. While he was working a scrape I got the binoculars up to inspect and see what he looked like. He was about 60 yards away and although he was gorgeous, he wasnt quite was I was looking for. He eased off and then I remembered I had my camera. One tip of the ol Primos can and he was headed back. I readied the camera and snapped a few. I sent him on his way with instructions to let his daddy know I wanted to talk to him. He is a nice 2.5ish year old deer. I'll have a date with him again in a year or two. ![]() I sat until 10ish with only another doe sighted that looked like she was nervous and being followed. Nothing ever surfaced after 30 minutes or so so and decided I should pack it in and head south. It was at this point that I stood up and remembered due to the heavy previous rains and the temps this morning that my foam seat was a solid block of ice. I remembered because a little while earlier "the monster" had bit me (this means I needed to go number 2 Still yet, the question remained.....Had I actually pooed myself? Did it just settle down? ![]() I would only know when I got back to the truck and undressed. Good luck shined on me once again and all was clean after undressing and thawing my rear. Im off from work for the last four days of season next week and will be camping out and on a MISSION. Maybe I can hunt hard and long enough to bag daddy rabbit! We shall see. Either way it was a great weekend...Thank you LORD! |
