There is that certain chop that makes the stern rise and the bow dip right into the belly of the oncoming wave. You learn not to go head in at idle speed. Gotta goose it and get the bow up. And never anchor in that. You have to get your fat butt on the bow and make it worse!

Exactly that! The best one was when my brother law sitting down in the cuddy opening with his back toward the bow. He was diggin in some processed meats, crackers, texas pete handing them out to the crew.....I turned straight in and did not have the bow "goosed up" enough and that 50 degree water rolled right up and over and down his back.....the other 2 of us laughed and laughed....him, not so much.
